Burns & McDonnell – BMcD Company Overview

At Burns & McDonnell, our engineers, construction professionals, architects, planners, technologists and scientists do more than plan, design and construct. With a mission unchanged since 1898 — make our clients successful — our team partners with you on the toughest challenges, constantly working to make the world an amazing place. Each professional brings an ownership mentality to projects at our 100% employee-owned firm, which has safety performance among the top 5% of AEC firms. That means we think like owners, working through each challenge until it’s resolved, meeting or exceeding our clients’ goals.

Alloyed – Using Additive Manufacturing to make complex components: A case study

This presentation will demonstrate the end-to-end workflows used in the manufacturing of components through Additive Manufacturing, including physical demonstrators.

Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of about 180 world-class metallurgists, engineers, and software developers working across 3 sites in the UK, 1 in Japan, and 1 in Seattle to build the future of advanced metal components and systems. To do this it uses proprietary software packages which combine advanced machine learning and physical modelling to invent better alloys, devise better ways to process them, and design better 3D-printed components and assemblies. Key projects include contracts with some of the world’s largest electronics, aerospace and automotive companies to develop materials, enhance manufacturing processes and produce components.

They are currently hiring graduates and will also be hiring interns in February!
