Sponsor Us

CUES is grateful to be supported by its company sponsors, to showcase engineering in industry and the latest recruitment opportunities to the brightest talent. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in becoming a sponsor.

Some of the key benefits of sponsoring CUES include:

  1. Careers Fair

CUES hosts the largest student-run careers fair in Cambridge. Being student-run sets this event apart from other fairs,  through in-person advertising and our extensive social media and newsletter outreach, we managed to attract a large and engaged audience. This year, over 500 students from Engineering, Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science attended, seeking summer internships, one-year placements and graduate roles.

  1. Presentations

This one-hour presentation, featuring a topic of the company’s choice and a lunch provided by CUES, is extremely popular with students and sponsors alike! It is an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about the company and examples of technical problems in the industry. An average of around 70 students attended each presentation in 2025-26, with presentations in Michaelmas term being particularly popular.

  1. Sector Events

This year, we plan to invite 3 companies from multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, software and tech, as well as electrical and semiconductor sectors to an exciting new evening event. Each company will present for 20-30 minutes, ideally on a technical topic, with breaks for networking and refreshments. Sponsors will be given priority slots to present.

  1. Flagship Events

Gold tier sponsors are invited to the department to run their own multi-hour activity, giving students the chance to gain a deep insight into industry and companies the opportunity to find talent. We provide a tailored, university-wide publicity campaign and a dedicated events team to support planning and organisation. Examples of such past events include the Theodo React.js Hackathon, Imagination Technologies Site Visit and the Agemo AI Hackathon.

  1. Mailing List and Social media

CUES’ newsletter and social media accounts are a fantastic way to publicise job postings and upcoming events. We consistently have high engagement through:

  • Facebook (5.4k followers)
  • Email newsletter (2k subscribers)
  • Instagram (1.7k followers)
  • WhatsApp (1k+ students)
  1. Publicity in Careers Handbook and CUES Magazine

The ‘Careers Handbook’ will contain information from every sponsor about their company and available internship and graduate roles. The CUES magazine will feature student and sponsor articles, with the potential for advertisements to be included. We are very keen for sponsors to submit technical articles for the magazine, as this would really interest members.

  1. Logo on CUES merchandise

We currently sell over 100 items of stash each year. This year we have introduced new items of stash including caps, scarves and notebooks as well as the classic quarter-zip jumpers. We plan to reintroduce sponsor logos on the stash and hope to subsidise the stash by a significant amount. This could lead to significantly increased sales and  therefore substantial brand advertising for your company whenever these clothing items are worn!

  1. Board of Advisors Meeting and Report

This is our annual meeting with our sponsors, where we discuss achievements over the past year, plans for the next year and gather feedback.

  1. Diversity, Access and Welfare

We often invite our sponsors to participate in relevant panels and activities, which offer a great way to promote the company brand beyond typical career events. A highlight is our highly successful Access Week, which grew from reaching 400 students in 2024 to over 900 in 2025. This event provides guidance to A-level students from underrepresented backgrounds on applying to the University of Cambridge.

In addition, events such as our BAME Socials and International Women’s Day Formal help foster an inclusive community by bringing together students from different year groups and backgrounds.

  1. Social Events

CUES runs 10+ high quality social events for members each year. These include go-karting, punting on the River Cam and pub quizzes. We place particular emphasis on fresher engagement, hosting dedicated events at the start of the academic year to help new members settle in and get involved.

A key highlight of our calendar is the Annual Dinner, to which all sponsors are invited. This black-tie, three-course event provides an excellent opportunity for networking, celebrating the year’s achievements, and marking the end of the academic year in style.
