Engineering is fundamentally about solving the world’s problems with practical solutions. Unfortunately, the current global climate has meant that many Engineers have not had time or access to the facilities required to realise their innovative solutions to the world’s many problems.
Thus we have decided to host the Lent CUES Hackathon! The theme is about as broad as it gets: 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. We are excited to see what you can hack, build and scrap together in two days to create a practical solution to any problem that affects anyone, anywhere!
We have partnered with several renowned companies and wonderful Cambridge societies including ITIC and CUID to bring you some amazing challenge ideas, workshops and more! More information about these workshops will be released shortly.
Engineers from all disciplines and years are encouraged to join together and innovate using a variety of skills.
- ITIC Challenge – Channel your knowledge into creative solutions to tackle real-world problems and work towards the SDG’s.
- CUiD Challenge – Development for a post-Covid world. Some ideas include
developing a system to help with online learning and education, or designing a product to help with vaccine deployment.
- Sponsor Challenges – A data analysis challenge (Predictive and Uncertainty Analytics) focusing on offshore wind projects.
We welcome ALL TYPES of projects, not limited to software applications, physical prototypes and models, logistical solutions, computer simulations and even research investigations. There are awards for several categories and even some provided by our partnering companies and societies. All awards will be presented during our closing ceremony.
